Conveyancing is the legal process of transferring ownership of a property from one party to another. It begins once an offer has been accepted and concludes on completion.
The national average is typically between 19 and 22 weeks. However, timescales can vary depending on the complexity of the transaction and whether there is a chain involved.
A conveyancing solicitor ensures that all legal aspects of your transaction are handled correctly. This includes reviewing contracts, carrying out searches, managing funds securely, and protecting your interests throughout.
We carry out a range of searches, including local authority, drainage, and environmental searches, to identify any issues that may affect the property.
Exchange of contracts is the stage at which the agreement becomes legally binding. Once contracts are exchanged, both parties are committed to the transaction and a completion date is agreed.
On completion, the purchase funds are transferred, ownership is legally passed to the buyer, and the keys are released.
